For the evaluation of the stiffness according to the resonance length method.

The instrument consists of base, housing, clamping device with hand wheel adjustment, swinging clamp with vibration device, power supply, stroboscope light and magnifying glass. The operator mounts one end of the sample into the fixed clamp and inserts the other one into the adjustable clamp. The oscilloscope produces a resonance with a frequency of 25 Hz. The operator now adjusts the moveable clamp to reach the highest possible sample amplitude. The distance between the clamps is reported as resonance length.
