Product Updates

OpTiBlend software option estimates the mass ratio of pulp species in an unknown blend, of up to 5 different components, with an accuracy better than 1%. It is only used with data files from the HiRes FQA [serial nunbers starting with LDA02].

Lower right contains an image of an OpTiPro analysis of the patterns in newsprint

OpTiPro (Optical Pattern Recognition) software quantifies the intensity, size and orientation of patterns in paper. The OpTiPro uses images from the Paper PerFect Formation Analyzer or the Paprican Micro-Scanner.

New HiRes FQA Applications:

  • Tissue Paper: A new publication is available that discusses the relationship between fiber curl and important tissue properties such as strength, bulk and softness.

  • Plastic Composites: The use of cellulose fibres in plastic composites is steadily increasing. The impact of fiber dimensions on composite properties is the subject of a new short presentation.
